One night, while brushing our teeth before bed, my wife decided it was a good time to tell me something. Through a mouthful of paste and over the buzzing of her toothbrush she said "Hakhf hnaj rapg." I gave her a quizzical look, and she realized it was impossible to hold a conversation while brushing teeth. She quickly mumbled "I'll tell you in a minute," but she still had a mouthful of Aquafresh, so I heard something completely different."Kaiya in a hat?" I asked. Kaiya is our dog and I was puzzling over the thought of why she'd need a hat. Kelly spat in the sink and started giggling. I wasn't getting it so I asked, "What hat?" This turned into laughter and thus began a running joke. Not too long after this incident we received some clothes for our daughter who was due soon. I found a bonnet and put it on Kaiya. Like a good girl she sat very still and let us take multiple photos in between fits of laughter. Kaiya is an important part of our family and it's good to know she has such trust in us that she'll let us dress her up without a problem. This bodes well for our daughter, maybe not as well for Kaiya.
